Stoughton Hospital Moves Outpatient Rehabilitation Services to Wellness Center

As demand for health care services close to home continues to grow, the Stoughton Hospital Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Department has moved its outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy programs to the Stoughton Wellness and Athletic Center (SWAC), located at the intersection of Highways 51 and 138.  The new clinic opened on Tuesday, August 12th.

The new location at SWAC offers an expanded gym filled with natural light.  The additional space was welcomed by the rehabilitation staff. “The move of rehabilitation services to SWAC provides a more convenient location and access to other wellness center businesses, such as the health club and gyms, which may allow us to collaborate and offer other rehabilitative programs.  Our utilization keeps growing and to best meet the needs of our patients, we needed to expand.    The new clinic will allow us to continue to provide the high level of customer service the community expects and appreciates from Stoughton Hospital,” explains Mary Quade, Stoughton Hospital Rehabilitation Services Manager.

“The majority of our patients are seen on an outpatient basis so offering rehabilitation services off site is a great solution to the space demands the entire hospital is facing,” states Quade.  Inpatient rehabilitation services will continue to be offered to patients admitted to Stoughton Hospital, she notes.

The rehabilitation services department move is the first “domino” in a series of hospital facility changes and expansion that will occur over the next three years as the hospital begins to implement phase one of the its new facility master plan.
