Lifeline Emergency Response System

What Is Lifeline?
Lifeline is an in-home emergency response system offered by Stoughton Hospital.

Lifeline enables senior citizens, people with physical disabilities and others who may need extra assistance, to maintain independence by providing a simple and proven method of calling for help.

Subscribers have used Lifeline to summon help in cases of heart attacks, strokes, falls, emotional stress, robbery or assault. Lifeline also provides peace of mind to family members, knowing help will be available when a loved one needs it most.

How Lifeline Works
Push a Button
– As a Lifeline subscriber, you wear a small personal help button on a neck chain or a wrist strap. Whenever you need help, any time of the day or night, just push the button to activate the emergency response system.

Lifeline Calls for Help – As soon as you push your button for help, the Lifeline machine will beep to acknowledge your call. The machine, which is attached to your telephone, automatically dials the emergency response center.

Your Call Is Received – The emergency response center employs trained coordinators 24 hours a day. When the center receives your signal for help, they will immediately try to reach you by telephone to see what type of help you need. If you accidentally push your help button, the response center will record the call as a test on your unit.

Help Is Called – If you are unable to answer the phone, the response center staff will call a responder – a friend, neighbor or a relative who is able and willing to assist you when needed. The center will tell your responder that you need help and ask him or her to check on you right away.

Help Arrives – Whether it is police, fire, ambulance or a personal friend, the emergency response center will ensure that someone is by your side within minutes of your call for help.

Cost, Installation and Information
There is a monthly charge for round-the-clock Lifeline monitoring. Installation takes just a few minutes to complete, and there is a one-time installation fee.

Your Lifeline unit needs to be tested once a month. If you forget, you will receive a call to remind you.
